How God Uses Christian Players in the NBA

Philippians 4:13
“I love that basketball gives me the opportunities to do good things for people and to point them towards the Man who died for our sins on the cross.” – Stephen Curry
You may already know several NBA players who follow the Word of God. You may also be playing for God, (Check out, “Become a True Athlete For God“) but we’ll be talking about how God uses these NBA players as his “giants”.
A quick overview of some followers of Christ in the NBA right now:
Stephen Curry, Jeremy Lin, Emmanuel Mudiay, Kevin Durant, Dwight Howard, Nate Robinson, Blake Griffin and many more who actively share the love of Christ.
These Christian NBA players honor God through their talents. Take a look at Stephen Curry; definitely dominating the game of basketball right now. He says their locker room is filled with the Holy Spirit, which definitely helped them win a championship. Stephen Curry says he gave his life to Christ and is sharing the gospel with his teammates, which would make a bigger impact as those other NBA players begin to see and share the truth.
“There’s more to me than just this jersey I wear, and that’s Christ living inside of me.” – Stephen Curry
We’ve all seen the miracles that happened in the NBA on 2012.
Jeremy Lin, one the guys who are more vocal in their faith as we all see in the interviews and articles he’s in.
Just at 5’3 his freshman year of high-school, he kept his faith strong with the Lord. Also fighting with the racial issues he faced during his college years at Harvard (Where he didn’t receive an athletic scholarship) and even now in the NBA. He showed many people, by not giving up and trusting the Lord, God will always keep you in His plans and bless you in many ways.
“But the one thing I can promise is that God’s bigger and better than anything that can happen.”
– Jeremy Lin
